BRIEF: Cordell Broadus, son of Snoop Dogg, quits UCLA football team

Aug. 14--Receiver Cordell Broadus, the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has quit the UCLA football team.

Broadus, who played at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High, has been absent from UCLA's training camp since it opened on Monday. He was ranked 130th on ESPN's top-300 recruit list.

"Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life -- in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions," UCLA Coach Jim Mora said in a statement. "Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA."

Broadus had 139 receptions for 1,810 yards and 26 touchdowns at Bishop Gorman.
