May 05--Chicago police were called to the area off Montrose Beach late Wednesday afternoon to pull a body out of Lake Michigan, officials said.
Emergency crews were called to the beach about 4:30 p.m., and fire officials handed over the incident to the Police Marine Unit.
The person was described as a man, police said.
The Marine Unit was on-scene late Wednesday afternoon, trying to recover the body, according to a police spokesman.
