May 04--Chicago police on Wednesday warned businesses in the Lakeview neighborhood about people committing a rash of smash-and-grab burglaries in the area in the last week.
Someone has been shattering the glass in either the door or window of the fronts of businesses overnight to get into them and steal things, police said.
The most recent burglary happened between midnight and 3:35 a.m. in the 900 block of West Diversey Parkway, according to police.
Other burglaries took place:
In the 3400 block of North Clark Street betwee 10 p.m. April 25 and 3:25 a.m. April 26;
In the 3100 block of North Broadway between 11 p.m. April 25 and 4:52 a.m. April 26;
In the 4400 block of North Broadway between midnight and 10:30 a.m. on April 28;
And in the 2800 block of North Clark between 6 p.m. April 28 and 3:15 a.m. April 29.
Police were seeking surveillance video of the burglaries.
