BRIEF: Cops warn of attempted sexual assault of Bronzeville girl

March 05--A 14-year-old girl was grabbed by a man while she was taking out garbage Friday morning on the South Side in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood, police said.

About 8:30 a.m., the girl was in an alley in the 4200 block of South Calumet Avenue when an older man grabbed her and put his hand under her clothes, police said. The girl broke away and ran to her home.

The attacker is described as a black man, between 40 to 50 years of age. He is bald with a gray mustache, and 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He weighs between 140 to 160 pounds and police said he may have a bite injury to his left hand.

The attacker was last seen wearing dirty black jeans with holes and a black zippered hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
