BRIEF: Cops warn of attempted child luring on West Side

Dec. 22--Chicago police issued an alert Sunday afternoon warning about a man who tried to lure a young girl on the West Side by asking if she wanted to make some money.

The girl was walking shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of South Christiana Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood when a man pulled up in his vehicle. He asked her if she had any friends who would date him and asked if she wanted to make some money, police said.

The man was driving an older model green minivan with rust spots. He was described as a white Hispanic man with a medium complexion between the ages of 40 and 50. He had black hair with a receding hairline and was wearing an earring in his right ear, a black shirt and black vest, police said.

Anyone with information on the incident should call the Area Central Bureau of Detectives at 312-747-8380.
