BRIEF: Cops warn of attempted child luring in Belmont Cragin neighborhood

Nov. 18--Police issued an alert Tuesday afternoon about a woman in a black sedan who approached two children on the Northwest Side and asked if they wanted a ride.

Shortly before 8 a.m., two children were approached by a woman driving a black four-door sedan on the 5400 block of West Schubert Avenue. The children told police that there were three men and two children riding with the woman.

After they declined her ride offer, the woman asked a second time. When they refused again she drove east on Schubert Avenue.

The driver was described as a middle-age white woman with a light complexion. She has medium-length blond hair and was wearing a black jacket, police said.

The vehicle had a white stripe across the taillights. It had a possible partial Illinois license plate of 97732, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Area North Bureau of Detectives at 312-744-8200.
