BRIEF: Cops search for man who robbed victims at ATMs on West Side

March 05--Police issued a community alert Friday evening warning of a man who robbed victims after they withdrew money from ATM machines on the city's West Side.

Police said the robber approached victims, implied he had a weapon then demanded money. The first robbery happened about 3:30 a.m. at an ATM in the 3300 block of West Roosevelt Road. The next robbery happened the same day about 12:50 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Madison Street.

Police had few details about the robber, but said he was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 175 pounds and was last seen wearing blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the robberies should contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
