BRIEF: Cops release surveillance photo in fatal Southwest Side hit-and-run

March 16--Chicago police are asking for the public's help finding the driver of a minivan that hit and killed a 72-year-old woman in the Marquette Park neighborhood in January.

The woman, whom the Cook County medical examiner's office identified as Grazina Siauciuliene, was hit by the minivan about 2:05 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to an alert issued by Chicago police on Tuesday.

The woman was crossing the street when she was hit, according to police.

Siauciuliene was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m. Jan. 20 at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office. An autopsy later showed that she died from complications from blunt force trauma to the head suffered when she was hit by the vehicle.

Police released a surveillance photo of the minivan, and said it was believed to be a light-colored van, possibly a Chrysler Town and Country minivan from 1999 to 2003. The minivan was believed to have sustained damage to the upper part of the windshield on the passenger's side.

Anyone with information about the accident or the minivan is asked to call the Major Accident Investigation Section at 312-745-4521.
