BRIEF: Cops release images of man who used Taser to rob woman

Jan. 27--Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who pulled a Taser on a woman and took her cellphone Friday in the city's South Loop neighborhood.

About 2:30 p.m., the woman was transferring from the Red Line to the Green Line. At around 1147 S. State St., on CTA property, she was approached by a man who pulled out a Taser gun and demanded her cellphone, police said. The woman was scared, so she did what the man said.

The robber was described as a 20- to 30-year-old black man with a medium complexion. He is between 5 feet, 7 inches and 6 feet tall and weighs 140 to 175 pounds, police said. Surveillance photos show him with close-cropped hair, wearing a dark-colored coat over a light-colored work shirt, with another dark-colored shirt under it.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact the detectives at 312-747-8382.
