Sept. 04--Police have released an image of a man who fatally wounded a woman early Thursday morning in the city's Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.
Shortly before 3 a.m., the woman was standing with her friends in the 1600 block of West 115th Street when a man approached them and fired a handgun several times, police said Friday afternoon.
The victim, later identified as Claudia Mister, 28, of the 10600 block of South Church Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Mister was among 12 people who were killed within 36 hours in Chicago.
The gunman is described as a black man with a medium complexion. He is about 6 feet tall, and weighs about 200 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray jeans. He has several tattoos on the back of the neck, both forearms and hands, said police.
