BRIEF: Cops: Plainfield man had heroin worth $200K, secret room

Oct. 31--A Plainfield man was arrested Friday after officers with a search warrant found over four pounds of heroin, more than $100,000 in cash and a hidden room in his home, officials said.

Lamond G. Ballard, 43, of Plainfield is being held at Will County Adult Detention facility after officers with Plainfield Police Department and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency searched his home Friday, according to a statement from Plainfield Police.

Officers found in the home two grams of cocaine; two kilograms of heroin with a street value of $200,000; more than $100,000 in cash; a 9mm semi-automatic handgun; a hidden room; and drug scales and packing materials, according to Plainfield police.

Ballard is being held on felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance, according to police.
