BRIEF: Cops: Man tried to lure teen girl into his car on South Side

March 02--A man tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into his car as she waited at a bus stop Tuesday morning in the Douglas community, police said.

The girl was waiting for a bus in the 300 block of East 35th Street about 7 a.m., heading to school, when the man tried to persuade her to get into his car, police said in an alert dated Tuesday but released Wednesday.

The man offered the girl a ride, got out of the car, then tried to grab the girl by the arm, police said. The girl pulled away and got on a bus.

The attacker was described as a black man, 20 to 25, with a dark complexion and a thin build, about 6 feet tall. He was wearing dark clothing and driving a newer-model black car with silver door handles, according to the alert.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
