Jan. 14--A 12-year-old boy who was on his way to school was inappropriately touched by a man a week ago on a crowded CTA No. 4 Cottage Grove bus, police said.
Shortly before 8:45 a.m. Jan. 7, the boy was riding on a bus as it traveled south on Cottage Grove Avenue. The boy was approached by a man who asked him to move so other passengers could get off. The man had prior contact with the boy as they traveled on the same bus route on four different occasions. The final time, he allegedly touched the boy inappropriately, police said.
Soon after, the man exited the bus at 87th Street and Cottage Grove, police said.
The suspect was described as black, about 5-foot-7 and 25 to 30 years old. He has a light complexion with a black beard and was last seen wearing a black cap, blue jacket and blue jeans, police said.
