BRIEF: Cops: Girl, 17, missing since June from South Side

July 06--Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 17-year-old girl who went missing about a week ago on the South Side in the city's Oakland neighborhood.

Cecily Clayton was last seen June 24 on the 1100 block of East 42nd Place. She was wearing a long-sleeved black lace blouse, a black-and-brown minidress and red canvas gym shoes. She may be carrying a brown leather backpack-like purse, police said.

Clayton is known to frequent the areas of King Drive and 33rd Street, 43rd Street and Lake Park Avenue, the 6000 to 6500 blocks of South Stony Island and Cottage Grove avenues, and 117th and Halsted streets, police said.

She is described as black with a medium complexion, blond hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
