BRIEF: Cops: Girl, 15, located who went missing 5 days ago near Washington Park

Oct. 19--A 15-year-old girl was located after she had gone missing five days ago from the city's Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

Police said Sabriyya "Briyya" Owens was reunited with her family without incident. No further details were available.

The girl had previously been seen Oct. 13 on the 5100 block of Calumet Avenue, about a block away from Washington Park. She was wearing a royal blue school uniform polo shirt, tan pants, black furry leg warmers and black Converse gym shoes, police said.

Police said Briyya may be carrying a dark-blue book bag and may have gray-colored contacts on.

She is known to frequent 51st Street from Michigan to Calumet avenues. She may also be in the area near 47th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.

Briyya is described as a black girl with a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds, police said.
