BRIEF: Cops: Citations pending following fatal Far South Side wreck

June 17--A 46-year-old man was killed when a vehicle jumped the curb Wednesday morning in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said.

A vehicle was northbound on Halsted Street when its driver, a 19-year-old man, lost control at 118th Street, hit a light pole and then a pedestrian who was on the sidewalk, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police.

The 46-year-old man, who was on the east side of Halsted Street, was pronounced dead on the scene after the 11 a.m. crash, said Sedevic. His name was not immediately available.

The driver remained on the scene and citations were pending, the officer said.
