April 26--The Chicago area will see cooler-than-average temperatures and on-and-off rain through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday is the only dry day in the forecast between Tuesday and Sunday, according to the weather service, with a chance for rain all other days and a chance for storms Sunday.
The next few days will be cool too.
"Normal highs are right now in the low 60s. I don't think we have that forecast anytime soon," said Amy Seeley, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
Except for Saturday, when the high is forecast in the low 60s, temperatures are expected to peak in the low 50s with temperatures in the 40s near the lake.
The cool weather followed a storm that dropped hail over much of the Chicago area. The largest hail -- about 1 3/4 inches -- was reported in Wauconda, Seeley said.
