BRIEF: Construction worker injured in fall from steel structure in Riverdale

March 29--A construction worker fell about 20 feet Tuesday morning from a steel superstructure at a new building on the Far South Side, officials said.

The accident happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. near the 400 block of East 138th Street near the Riverdale neighborhood, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Officials reported the worker had fallen about 20 feet and landed on a roof deck. The worker was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but the worker's condition was not available. However, officials said the worker was alert and talking.
