BRIEF: Compton school board member ordered to stand trial on sex charge

Dec. 05--A member of the Compton Unified School District board was ordered Thursday to stand trial in San Diego on a sex charge.

A Superior Court judge ordered Skyy De'Anthony Fisher, 31, to stand trial on a felony charge of having sex with an unconscious person. If convicted, he faces a maximum eight years in prison, according to the district attorney's office.

Fisher was arrested July 23 on suspicion of having sex with a sleeping 26-year-old man while the two were sharing a motel room during a vacation break in San Diego. During a preliminary hearing, the man testified that he awoke to find Fisher performing oral sex on him.

Fisher is set to be arraigned Dec. 17. Elected in 2011, he refused public demands that he resign after his arrest.
