BRIEF: Complete casting announced for new musical 'Hazel' at Drury Lane

Feb. 23--The Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace has announced the complete cast for the world-premiere of "Hazel," the 1960s-set musical based on the Saturday Evening Post comic strip character and Shirley Booth TV series.

Joining the previously announced Klea Blackhurst, who will star as the spunky maid Hazel Burke, are Ken Clark as George Baxter, Summer Smart as Dorothy Baxter, Casey Lyons as Harold Baxter, Ava Morse as Benedetta Bomicino, Rowan Moxley as Reuben Steuben, Davu Smith as Scotty Ferber and Ed Kross as Bonkers Johnson. The ensemble includes Bill Bannon, Johnson Brock, Courtney Cerny, Brian M. Duncan, Rhett Guter, Tyler Martin, Terrance Martin, Shari Mocheit, Megan Murphy, Kristen Noonan, Gerard Salvador and Holly Stauder.

Director Joshua Bergasse, whose choreography was seen extensively on NBC's "Smash," will be joined by music director Roberta Duchak, who was the vocal coach to Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe for the film version of "Les Miserables."

"Hazel," featuring a book by Lissa Levin, music by Ron Abel and lyrics by Chuck Steffan, runs March 31 -- May 29.
