May 21--Police are warning the public after five armed robberies in the Lakeview neighborhood since Monday.
During the robberies, the victims were approached by the attacker, who pulled a handgun and demanded their property, according to a statement from police News Affairs.
The attacker is an African-American male between the ages of 17 and 25 and is between 5-foot-4 to 6 feet tall. He weighs between 160 to 175 pounds and wears a gray or dark-colored sweatshirt, police said.
Two of the latest in this pattern happened late Friday night -- at 11:55 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Seminary Avenue and at 11:40 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Sheffield Avenue, police said.
There have been three other attacks:
--May 19 at 11:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Oakdale Avenue
--May 16 at 9:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Waveland Avenue
--May 16 at 9:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Henderson Street
