May 31--South Side rapper-turned-actor Common said he supported his teenage daughter seeing Beyonce perform over the weekend at Soldier Field, but he didn't quite support her outfit choice.
"I wanted her to be open and free, but not that open," Common told Kelly Ripa while co-hosting Tuesday's episode of "Live with Kelly."
Beyonce performed sold-out shows Friday and Saturday at Soldier Field. Common said his daughter Omoye Lynn often prefers music by Beyonce and Chicago's Chance the Rapper to his own work.
"She likes some of (my) music, but she's really honest about my music. She'll say, 'Naw, that's not good or you can do better than that or you're not as good as Chance the Rapper or these guys,'" said Common, 44.
"Live with Kelly" airs 9 a.m. weekdays on WLS-Ch. 7. Journalist Anderson Cooper is set to co-host Wednesday's episode as producers search for a permanent replacement for former co-host Michael Strahan, who left earlier this month to join "Good Morning America."
