BRIEF: Comedian Jack McBrayer shares 'white trash' tiramisu recipe

Jan. 12--It's been years since longtime "30 Rock" star Jack McBrayer was a struggling comedian performing at Second City and the iO Theater, yet he still lives a frugal lifestyle.

"Old habits die hard," McBrayer told Conan O'Brien Monday on "Conan." "I don't like spending money willy-nilly."

McBrayer, who lived in Chicago from 1995-2002, said sometimes he gets free stuff when he mentions brands during television appearances. He said he also drives a 2004 Hyundai Accent he bought from Enterprise Rent-A-Car and likes to prepare inexpensive treats.

He shared a recipe for "white trash" tiramisu. Take a box of twinkies and put them at the bottom of a casserole dish. Pour some amaretto on top and then cover it with a layer of vanilla pudding. Add Cool Whip and a crushed Heath bar, then squirt Hershey's syrup on top.

"Wow. It sounds good actually," O'Brien said.

"It's real good," said McBrayer, 42.

McBrayer stars on the new season of David Cross' comedy "Todd Margaret," which airs on IFC Thursdays at 10 p.m.

"Conan" airs weeknights on TBS at 10 p.m.
