BRIEF: Collaboraction's final 'Sketchbook' lineup announced

Nov. 03--Collaboraction has announced its 15th, and final, "Sketchbook" festival featuring 16 world premiere theater pieces.

Highlights of the festival include David Dastmalchian, a DePaul Theatre School alum known from Marvel's "Ant-Man" (profiled by Tribune reporter Nina Metz here) who will star in artistic director Anthony Moseley's "Blink." Beth Henley, playwright of "The Jacksonian," will premiere a new work titled "Seven Minutes," to be directed by John Cabrera, known as Brian Fuller on "Gilmore Girls." Chicago's Hip-Hop duo The Q Brothers will unveil a new take on "Romeo and Juliet" with "I 3 Juliet." Jeremy Wechsler, director of Anne Washburn's "Mr. Burns, a post-electric play" last season at Theater Wit, will reunite with Washburn to direct her new play "When the Bachelors Come out of the Brush."

The festival will run Jan. 14 -- 24 at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St.
