Jan. 28--The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission will consider amending its lease with USC during Thursday's meeting to allow two NFL teams to temporarily use the stadium.
The announcement from L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, the commission's president, is the latest sign that a second NFL team could soon join the Rams in L.A.
USC's current lease to operate the Coliseum allows only one NFL team to use the facility.
NFL owners approved the Rams' move from St. Louis to L.A. on Jan. 12. As part of the agreement, the San Diego Chargers received a one-year option to move to L.A. The Oakland Raiders have an identical option they can exercise if the Chargers pass.
The Rams, who plan to build a multi-billion dollar stadium in Inglewood, and the Chargers are negotiating to share the facility.
If they reach an agreement, both teams will need temporary homes until the Inglewood stadium's projected completion in time for the 2019 season.
The Rams have already indicated they plan to play at the Coliseum, although no deal has been announced with the facility.
