BRIEF: Clippers vs. New Orleans Pelicans preview

Dec. 06--The Clippers, who have won six games in a row and seven of their last eight, play the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center.

Over their six-game streak they've averaged 112 points a game and held their opponents to an average of 93 points.

The game features two especially interesting matchups. Blake Griffin and Anthony Davis, two of the top power forwards in the league, will be pitted against each other. And Clippers Coach Doc Rivers will be coaching against his son, Austin.

Griffin is averaging 22.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists a game for the Clippers (13-5). Davis is averaging 25.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists for the Pelicans (8-9).

At Friday's practice, Rivers acknowledged that his entire family, including his wife, will be rooting for his son.

"I'm the outlier in that group," Rivers said.

The Pelicans have lost four of their last five games. They will be playing without Eric Gordon, who sustained a left shoulder subluxation.

Reggie Bullock is out for the Clippers with a right ankle sprain. Chris Douglas-Roberts, who has a strained right Achilles', is listed as doubtful.
