BRIEF: Clippers seize momentum with win to start nine-game homestand

Dec. 26--The Clippers began their longest home stretch of the season -- nine consecutive games at Staples Center -- by beating the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.

It's good news for a team that has won their last eight home games in a row. And even better news for a team that has lost five consecutive road games.

The Clippers host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, followed by the Utah Jazz (Dec. 29), the New York Knicks (Dec. 31), the Philadelphia 76ers (Jan. 3), the Atlanta Hawks (Jan. 5), the Lakers (Jan. 7), the Dallas Mavericks (Jan. 10) and the Miami Heat (Jan. 11).

It's a good opportunity for the Clippers to shake things up in the very competitive Western Conference.

"We got to pile up wins, you know how tough the West is," Clippers point guard Chris Paul said, "We've got a tough Toronto team coming in here on Saturday. We got to be ready to play."

After their 100-86 victory over Golden State, the Clippers are in fifth place in the West, four games behind the first-place Warriors.

The Clippers' biggest winning streak this season to date is nine games.
