BRIEF: Clippers look to extend winning streak on the road

Dec. 31--The Clippers will face another challenge on this five-game trip.

It's the final game before they return home to play at Staples Center on Saturday night.

But they don't want to look ahead and past the New Orleans Pelicans when the two teams meet Thursday night.

The Clippers have won their first four games on the road -- one was the Lakers' designated home game at Staples Center on Christmas -- and would like nothing better than to complete the trip on a winning note.

"We have no choice but to stay focused," Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said.

The Clippers won three of the games without All-Star power forward Blake Griffin, who is out with a partially torn left quad tendon.

"Whenever you win a game without one of your stars, you just say, 'Thank you,' and you move on to the next one," Rivers said. "And I think that's how we're playing. We're just single-game focused because we have to have it that way."
