BRIEF: Clippers' Glen Davis fined $5,000 for Game 3 flop against Rockets

May 09--Clippers' reserve forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis was fined $5,000 for a flopping violation in the team's 124-99 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 3 of the teams' second-round playoff series, the NBA announced Saturday.

Davis' flop occurred late in the first quarter when the forward set a screen, then fell to the ground when he made contact with Rockets' center Dwight Howard's arm.

It was the second flopping violation of the series, which the Clippers lead 2 games to 1. The NBA also fined Rockets' forward Corey Brewer $5,000 for a flop during the first quarter of Game 2.

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers was asked Saturday if all of the flops bother him.

"I don't care," Rivers said before the team watched film. "As long as we get away with it, I'm fine. And I want them to catch Corey every time he does it."

NBA players receive one flop warning per season -- Davis received his in March during a game against the Golden State Warriors.

Players are then fined $5,000 for the second flop, $10,000 for a third flop, $15,000 for a fourth flop and $30,000 for a fifth flop. After that, the league can consider a suspension.
