BRIEF: Clippers' championship odds take a hit after team loses DeAndre Jordan

July 06--The Clippers' odds of winning an NBA championship next season have gone from 10-to-1 to 20-to-1 after free-agent center DeAndre Jordan decided to join the Dallas Mavericks, according to betting website Bovada.

Jordan committed to the Mavericks on Friday, agreeing to a four-year, $80-million contract with an opportunity to opt out after the third year.

The 26-year-old had spent his entire seven-season pro career with the Clippers, most recently helping them nearly reach the Western Conference finals for the first time in their 45-year existence.

Jordan led the NBA in rebounding (15 per game) and field-goal percentage (71%) last season, and also averaged a career-high 11.5 points a game. He had four 20-20 performances -- games with at least 20 points and 20 rebounds -- throughout last season.

The Clippers now have a gaping hole to fill in their roster, and are thought to be considering JaVale McGee and Amare Stoudemire to fill Jordan's spot.
