Feb. 03--An arson investigation is underway after a blaze erupted at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights early Wednesday.
Flames were discovered about 4 a.m. at an office building that houses a plant manager's office, a couple of storage rooms and a bathroom on the sprawling campus in the 400 block of South Mathews Street, said LaMonte Douglas, the LAUSD regional facilities director who oversees school operations.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze before flames spread to other buildings, Los Angeles Fire Capt. Chris Aguirre told KTLA. It appeared to have caused only smoke damage, he said.

The blaze is considered suspicious, Aguirre said.
Investigators believe someone scaled a perimeter fence to enter the campus and set fire to the building, he said.
School will remain open, and classes have not been canceled.
