BRIEF: Claressa Shields wins another world boxing title

May 27--If there were any doubts about Claressa Shields' dominance in women's boxing, she answered them Friday at the world championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The middleweight from Flint, Mich., won her second consecutive title to go with a 2012 Olympic gold medal. Her four-year winning streak now stands at 48 bouts.

"To be a two-time world champion feels great," she said. "I have never had these emotions before, and it was definitely overwhelming."

The judges awarded her a unanimous decision over second-seeded Nouchka Fontijn of the Netherlands. Shields immediately looked ahead to the 2016 Summer Olympics.

"Between now and Rio, I am just going to get better," she said. "I am my biggest critic, and I like to acknowledge my mistakes and fix them."
