BRIEF: Clarendon Hills suffers power outage after truck knocks down line

March 04--Part of Clarendon Hills was without power for about two hours Friday morning after a semi-trailer truck snagged a power line, which resulted in a transformer and pole being pulled to the ground.

Police Chief Boyd Farmer said the incident occurred at 8:49 a.m. when the driver of the truck attempted to make a U-turn in the vacant lot at 9-23 Walker Ave.

"He snagged the wires, which snapped the pole," Farmer said, adding that the driver of the truck was not ticketed.

ComEd was making repairs.
