BRIEF: City Lit Theater announces 2016-17 season

March 11--City Lit Theater, known for producing literary adaptations, has announced its 37th season.

First up is "London Assurance" (Sept. 23 -- Nov. 6) by Dion Boucicault. Artistic director Terry McCabe will direct the comedy about a young woman who plans to marry an old man for his money -- before she falls in love with his son.

Next up is a yet to be announced adaptation by Paul Edward that will run Jan. 6 -- Feb. 12.

Douglas Post's "Forty-Two Stories" (April 14 -- May 28) follows, about the kooky characters in a condo building. Jessica Fisch will direct.

Finishing up the season is "PSmith, Journalist" (June -- July). McCabe will adapt P.G. Wodehouse's play about a New York magazine editor.
