Chris Soules on ex Chicago fiancee: 'We're still friends'

Oct. 09--Months after their breakup, former "Bachelor" Chris Soules said he's still friendly with ex fiancee Whitney Bischoff, a Chicago nurse.

"We're still friends and we catch up regularly. She's doing great," Soules, 33, told US Weekly on Thursday.

Soules and Bischoff, 30, broke off their engagement in May, less than three months after ABC aired Soules' proposal to Bischoff in the finale of Season 19 of "The Bachelor." Since then, Bischoff has kept a low profile, telling US Weekly Thursday she's casually dating.

"I don't know that I have a specific person that I'm looking for. I think that in general it's someone who makes me a better person, makes me happy, makes me laugh and shares a common interest, so I don't know if there's a big stereotype with that," Bischoff said.

For his part, Soules has landed a variety of gigs since his turn on the "Bachelor." He was eliminated Wednesday from Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Editon" for creating an inedible "canker salad."

Soules, who was known as Prince Farming on "The Bachelor," also recently helped select Indiana farmer Keith Schoettmer as America's Pig Farmer of the Year.

"Not only is Keith a great farmer, he's been married for 33 years," said Soules, who considers himself single. "He's been giving me some dating advice, so we're killing two birds with one stone."

Meanwhile, former "Bachelorette" contestant Ben Higgins has been spotted filming the next season of "The Bachelor," which is set to premiere in January.
