April 01--MESA, Ariz. -- Manager Joe Maddon said last week he believed that Chris Coghlan was emerging as a strong No. 2 hitter in the Chicago Cubs' batting order.
But Coghlan was scratched from the Cubs' lineup Wednesday against Milwaukee because of a stiff neck.
Jorge Soler, whom Maddon said would be an out-of-the-box choice, moves in the second spot.
