BRIEF: Chris Coghlan returns to Cubs' lineup

Oct. 10--Damp weather hovered Friday morning over Busch Stadium, where the Chicago Cubs hope to end the success of rival St. Louis in the first game of the National League Championship Series.

Chris Coghlan, who is 8-for-17 lifetime against Cardinals starter John Lackey, returns to the Cubs' lineup and will bat sixth. The Cubs made a switch, and Coghlan will now play left field, with Kyle Schwarber moving to right.

"We're trying to guess where the ball will be hit more often," said manager Joe Maddon, who admitted he mixed up the positions of Schwarber and Coghlan when the lineup originally was submitted. "That's all it's about."

Kris Bryant returns to third base after starting the NL wild-card game Wednesday night in left field.
