Nov. 21--Chicago currency trader Alex Jacob easily won the "Jeopardy" Tournament of Champions Friday, wrapping up a two-week sweep of past champions of the quiz show.
Jacob, 31, earned $250,000 after beating Washington, D.C. paralegal Matt Jackson and Kerry Greene, of New Hampshire, in the two-day finale.
Jacob finished with $48,300 in the final tournament round to Jackson's $10,200 and Greene's $8,100.
The total is a combination of the contestants' Thursday and Friday scores. Jacob went into Friday's episode with $29,600 versus Greene's $3,400 and Jackson's $3,000.
Jacob effortlessly defeated his opponents in the tournament, often not even attempting the Final Jeopardy clue. He thanked the show as his answer to Friday's Final Jeopardy clue about philosophers.
A former professional poker player, Jacob went on a six-day "Jeopardy" win streak in April that earned him $149,802.
"Jeopardy," which is in its 32nd season, airs at 3:30 p.m. on WLS-Ch. 7.
