BRIEF: Chicago's 'streets of gold' captured in time-lapse video

May 15--Months of lugging camera equipment to Chicago's rooftops have produced a stunning five-minute time-lapse sweep of the city at night.

"There is something special about looking down on streets of gold and taking in the view," said photographer Max Wilson, who has posted the video on Vimeo.

"Chicago is not an easy city to get around with a few hundred pounds of gear and hauling it up to rooftops and other tight spaces where it sits in awkward places for long periods of time," he says on the Vimeo post.

"After spending hours and days setting up shots and developing them, it's nice to see a pretty image come to life in the form of a time-lapse," he says. "It really makes me appreciate this city and all it's uniqueness it offers."

This isn't the first time Wilson has captured Chicago at night. Last year, he finished a 90-second time-lapse of planes landing at O'Hare International Airport.
