Dec. 01--Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. today for the First Bites Bash, the Jan. 21 gala that serves as the kickoff event for Chicago Restaurant Week.
Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno, Piccolo Sogno Due) will be the official host at this year's bash, which takes place in Union Station. More than 60 restaurants will participate in the gala, serving up tastings. Goose Island beers, Terlato wines, and various spirit and cocktail tastings will be part of the mix as well.
Tickets are $125 and can be purchased at firstbitesbash.com. That site also has the complete list of participating restaurants.
The ninth annual Chicago Restaurant Week will run Jan. 22 to Feb. 4; more than 350 restaurants will be featuring prix-fixe lunches ($22) and dinners ($33 and $44). Online reservations will be available in early January.
