BRIEF: Chicago rapper Common to visit Randolph Street Market Saturday

Aug. 28--South Side native Common will be at the Randolph Street Market in the West Town neighborhood Saturday to bring awareness to food deserts.

Common is slated to be at Wholesome Wave and Naked Juice's "Drink Good Do Good" booth from 9 to 11 a.m., according to a press release. The market is at 1350 W. Randolph St.

Common, a Grammy-winning rapper, has already shown support for the campaign by encouraging social media users to take a photo holding a fruit or vegetable, tag a friend and include the hashtag #DrinkGoodDoGood.

For each photo, Naked Juice will donate 10 pounds of produce to nutrition incentive program Wholesome Wave to help fight food deserts, which are generally defined as areas without ready access to affordable healthy food.

"Entourage" actor Adrian Grenier and chefs Tom Colicchio, Michael Voltaggio and Jos頁ndr鳠are also part of the movement.

Common is set to appear in the upcoming supervillain flick "Suicide Squad."
