BRIEF: Chicago police shoot 2 dogs, killing 1, on South Side

Dec. 26--Police officers fatally shot one dog and wounded another in the Park Manor neighborhood late Friday, police said.

About 10:30 p.m., officers responding to a call of vicious dogs in the 700 block of East 69th Place found three "aggressive" dogs advancing toward people on the block, said Chicago police spokeswoman Officer Amina Greer.

The dogs then began walking toward the officers, who fired their weapons, hitting two dogs. One was killed. Another was wounded and then left the scene with the dog who had not been shot.

Police did not know who owned the dogs, Greer said.
