Oct. 13--Chicago native Shonda Rhimes said she likes to treat herself at the holidays with a Chicago-style pizza.
Rhimes, who recently announced a 117-pound weight loss, said Aurelio's Pizza is her go-to spot.
"This is controversial, but I think thin-crust pizza is disgusting. On Christmas Eve, I have deep-dish pizza flown in from Chicago. I like Aurelio's, which is a thinner crust but still Chicago-style," Rhimes, 45, told Food Wine magazine in an article posted online Tuesday about Rhimes' holiday traditions.
A representative for the Homewood-based pizza chain did not immediately return a Tribune request for comment.
Rhimes, who was born in Chicago and attended school in Chicago Heights, is behind TV shows "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder."
