BRIEF: Chicago native Michael Pena to star in 'The Worker'

Feb. 05--Chicago native Michael Pena will star in the action film "The Worker," The Hollywood Reporter reported this week.

Pena, who was in "The Martian" and "Ant-Man," will play a Mexican special ops agent working against the drug cartel heads who kidnap his wife and son. The film, which is described as "Taken" meets the "Bourne" franchise, will be directed Dan Bradley ("Spider-Man" movies) and co-produced by Jeremy Renner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Pena, who grew up on the Southwest Side, is also set to star in the "CHiPs" film reboot. He appears in a Super Bowl ad for Bud Light that features Amy Schumer, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd.
