BRIEF: Chicago man killed at Dolton fast-food restaurant

June 21--A 25-year-old Chicago man was killed in a shooting early Sunday at a fast-food restaurant in south suburban Dolton, officials said.

Investigators arrived about 6 a.m. to Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Hammond after a fatal shooting at Maxwell Street Polish, 1320 E. Sibley Blvd. in Dolton, according to a news release from the Lake County coroner's office.

Daniel Hampton, of the 3300 block of West Fullerton Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:47 a.m. at the hospital, the release said.

Officials said he died of gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, the release said.

There was no immediate information available from the Dolton Police Department about the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting.
