Nov. 13--A Chicago was ordered held on $350,000 bail in connection with an October shooting that wounded a man on I-294 near the 159th Street exit, police said.
The shooting happened Oct. 19 about 9:15 a.m. on northbound I-294 near Tollway Plaza 41. According to reports, the victim, who was driving a burgundy Chevrolet Impala, and someone driving a minivan, had a traffic altercation, according to Illinois State Police.
The person driving the minivan then shot at the Impala, striking the driver. A child was in the back seat of the Impala at the time of the shooting but was not injured, police said. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life threatening injuries.
Police were able to retrieve video surveillance footage and later identified El Rekiko D. King, 36, as the shooter and the driver of the minivan, officials said.
King was arrested Nov. 11 and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. He was ordered held on $350,000 and scheduled to appear in court Nov. 16.
