BRIEF: Chicago law firm Meckler Bulger Tilson joining Philadelphia firm

April 23--Meckler Bulger Tilson, a 60-lawyer Chicago law firm, will combine with Cozen O'Connor of Philadelphia on June 1.

Meckler Bulger Tilson specializes in labor and employment, complex insurance coverage and commercial litigation.

"Our combined labor and employment practice will give us a more visible national platform as we take full advantage of Cozen O'Connor's extensive reach in 23 cities across the country," Joe Tilson, a co-chair of Meckler Bulger Tilson, said.

Cozen O'Connor has 575 attorneys nationwide. It had revenue of $306 million in 2013, according to American Lawyer magazine.

"One of our strategic goals has been to extend our practice and industry sector strengths in Chicago, because of its importance as a leading business and legal market in the United States," Michael J. Heller, president and chief executive officer of Cozen O'Connor, said in a statement.
