BRIEF: 'Chicago Fire,' 'Med,' 'P.D.' to unite in crossover event

Jan. 05--A tragedy brings together the casts of "Chicago P.D.," "Chicago Med" and "Chicago Fire" for a two-night, three-hour crossover event that begins Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Firefighter Christopher Herrmann (played by David Eigenberg) was stabbed last month on "Chicago Fire" in a fall finale cliffhanger. The team from "Chicago Med" will take care of him while "Chicago P.D." officers search for the suspect in the stabbing.

The NBC event starts with "Chicago Fire" at 8 p.m., continues with "Chicago Med" at 9 p.m., and concludes with "Chicago P.D." Wednesday at 9 p.m.

"Chicago Med," which premiered in November, is the latest in Dick Wolf's Chicago-centric series. "Chicago Fire" premiered in 2012 and spawned "Chicago P.D." in 2014.

"You can get your fill of all things Chicago," Taylor Kinney, who plays Lt. Kelly Severide in "Chicago Fire," says in a promo for the crossover.
