Dec. 22--The Portokalos family is back in Chicago, sort of.
Nia Vardalos shared the first poster for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2," the sequel to the 2002 Chicago-set film about Greek woman Toula (Vardalos) who falls in love and marries non-Greek man Ian Miller (played by John Corbett). The sequel, which was shot in Toronto, is slated to hit theaters March 25.
"Guess who's back for the sequel. Hint...EVERYONE," Vardalos, a Second City alumna, captioned a photo of the movie poster Tuesday on Instagram. Many of Toula's family members are shown on the poster as the Chicago skyline is displayed in the background. "People change. Greeks don't," is the tagline.
The first film features Lainie Kazan and Michael Constantine as Toula's parents. Vardalos' real-life husband Ian Gomez, a Second City alumnus, and longtime 'NSync band member Joey Fatone also star.
Stock footage of the Chicago skyline was used in the first film, which was also shot in Toronto, according to the Chicago Film Office.
Elena Kampouris (NBC's "American Odyssey") joins the cast for the sequel as Toula and Ian's daughter. Her family becomes overbearing as she applies to college.
