BRIEF: Chicago chefs join in Eataly's first anniversary

Dec. 01--It's a first birthday party for Eataly (43 E. Ohio St.), and a number of Chicago chefs are helping celebrate.

From 5-10 p.m. Tuesday, Eataly will host "una serata tra amici" (an evening among friends) in which seven Chicago chefs will contribute dishes to be featured at Eataly's various restaurants. Among the participants are Spiaggia's Chris Marchino (whose dishes will be featured at Baffo), Bar Toma's Erik Freeburg (pizza), The Bristol's Chris Pandel (mozzarella), A10 and Yusho's Matthias Merges (fritto, crudo and Piazza bar) and Anteprima's Marty Fosse (pesce).

The event is open to the public, and no reservations or tickets are required (you might need a rez to get into Baffo, though).
